Sunday Discipleship Class 9:45am

Each Sunday at 9:45am

Children's Discipleship-Education
Building Upstairs:
The Gospel Project offers children a Christ centered,
chronological study of the Bible that helps kids dive
deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue
His people through His Son, Jesus Christ. Kids will
be shown how the whole Bible points to Jesus and the
gospel. There will be fun extras like art, videos, music,
and activities to keep your kids engaged every week.

Seekers Class (Adults)
Fellowship Hall,
Holy Grounds Room: Eve Shope, public
school educator and dedicated Seekers SS class
facilitator, continues to build group cohesiveness
and inspire group discussion as various books of
the Bible are examined through close reading
and thoughtful study. Members of her class are
encouraged to comment and ask questions on the
scripture being studied—regardless of their level
of Biblical under- standing. Eve's husband, Pat,
partners in facilitating the lessons. The Apostle, Paul,
wrote to the people at Ephesus saying this: “I keep
asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom
and revelation, so that you may know him better.” This a
great time to join an adult Sunday School class to enjoy
Christian fellowship while growing in Biblical wisdom!

Covenant Class (Adults)
Education Building room 207: Jim Richardson,
long time BUMC member, will use scripture as a
guide for class members to understand and know
what God desires of us. Lessons will come from
topical subjects that are of a concern to the class and
group discussion and interaction will lead followers
to know God in a deeper way. Jim has a BA
in Christian Studies, has written Bible studies,
and has hosted a Christian group to the Holy Land in
the past. Deeply spiritual and a God-fearing man, Jim Richardson’s commitment to the Jesus “Way of Life”
is inspiring! Proverbs 16:16 says having wisdom
and understanding is better than having silver and
gold! Fellowship, fun and learning—what could be better!

Sunday Discipleship Class 11am

Each Sunday at 11:00 am

Youth Sunday School
Community Centre,
Youth Lounge: 6th through 12th graders are
invited to join this class each Sunday. Topics will vary.

Providential Life (Adults) -
Education Building, room 205:
As a pastor, Christian worker, teacher,
military officer, small business owner, medical
worker, and large business manager, Bill Winscott’s
varied life experiences will provide class members
with a firm grasp of scriptural references leading to a
providential life—God centered—a life in Jesus Christ!
Bill and Carol are new members from Albuquerque,
New Mexico, and Bill will be using his book,
LIVING A PROVIDENTIAL LIFE, as a basis for this first study.
The book is an optional resource and is available in the church
office for $10.00 and can be found on Amazon and Barnes &
Noble, as well. Proverbs 9:9 says to give instruction to a wise
person, and he/she will be wiser still and teach a righteous
person and he/she will increase in learning! All are welcome.

Tuesday Morning Women’s Study

The Tuesday Morning Study Group will begin
its spring study on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022.
Classes are held in the Holy Grounds room in Fellowship Hall.

We will start off with a study
by Ann Graham Lotz called “Jesus in Me”. The second
study will be “You Were Made for This Moment”  by Max Lucado.
Both studies include a video with discussion and questions afterward.
See below for more information about these studies.   All are welcome.

In Jesus in Me, Anne Graham Lotz draws on her rich biblical
knowledge as well as her personal journey—including her recent
cancer diagnosis—to help us understand that the Holy Spirit is not
a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who
prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts
us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. In this seminal teaching,
she explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit that will revolutionize
how you understand and relate to this vital third Person in the Trinity.

As Anne writes, “One of my deepest, richest joys has been
discovering by experience who the Holy Spirit is in every step of my
life’s journey. Each name that He has been given—Helper, Comforter,
Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby—reveals
another aspect of His beautiful character and has provoked in me a
deep love for the One who is my constant Companion . . . Jesus in me.”

Discover how to better love and rely on the
person of the Holy Spirit and embrace how much He loves you
through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives.
Are you weary? Worn out by the bills that keep stacking, a virus that keeps raging, or a heart that keeps aching? If so, the book of Esther brings welcome news: Relief will come!

To be clear, you didn't ask for this struggle. You want to
get past it. You don't know how much longer you can hold up.
But what if God is with you in this difficult season? When life seems
off the rails, remember this truth: the minute you bow your head to
pray is the moment God lifts his hand to help. Queen Esther learned
this truth firsthand. When confronted with a royal decree that would
annihilate her people, she had to make some tough choices. Would
she remain silent in the face of this challenge, or would she speak up?
Would she blend in, or would she stand out? But after Esther spent
three days in prayer and fasting, God gave her the courage to speak up.
God used her to save the nation. And God can do the same with you.

In You Were Made for This Moment, pastor and New York
Times bestselling author Max Lucado will help you: put your hope
in the God of grand reversals, trusting that God will right every wrong
cultivate courage for your challenging times by leaning on the God who redeems and restores discover your role in God's story by exploring how
God can use your experiences and circumstances to join him in his holy
work God never promised us a life without trials, but he does promise
to be with us as we walk through them. Trust that he can redeem your struggles for a mighty purpose. You, friend, were made for this moment.
