Sunday Discipleship Class 9:45am

Each Sunday at 9:45am

Children's Discipleship-Education
Building Upstairs:
The Gospel Project offers children a Christ centered,
chronological study of the Bible that helps kids dive
deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue
His people through His Son, Jesus Christ. Kids will
be shown how the whole Bible points to Jesus and the
gospel. There will be fun extras like art, videos, music,
and activities to keep your kids engaged every week.

Seekers Class (Adults)
Fellowship Hall,
Holy Grounds Room: Eve Shope, public
school educator and dedicated Seekers SS class
facilitator, continues to build group cohesiveness
and inspire group discussion as various books of
the Bible are examined through close reading
and thoughtful study. Members of her class are
encouraged to comment and ask questions on the
scripture being studied—regardless of their level
of Biblical under- standing. Eve's husband, Pat,
partners in facilitating the lessons. The Apostle, Paul,
wrote to the people at Ephesus saying this: “I keep
asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom
and revelation, so that you may know him better.” This a
great time to join an adult Sunday School class to enjoy
Christian fellowship while growing in Biblical wisdom!

Covenant Class (Adults)
Education Building room 207: Jim Richardson,
long time BUMC member, will use scripture as a
guide for class members to understand and know
what God desires of us. Lessons will come from
topical subjects that are of a concern to the class and
group discussion and interaction will lead followers
to know God in a deeper way. Jim has a BA
in Christian Studies, has written Bible studies,
and has hosted a Christian group to the Holy Land in
the past. Deeply spiritual and a God-fearing man, Jim Richardson’s commitment to the Jesus “Way of Life”
is inspiring! Proverbs 16:16 says having wisdom
and understanding is better than having silver and
gold! Fellowship, fun and learning—what could be better!

Sunday Discipleship Class 11am

Each Sunday at 11:00 am

Youth Sunday School
Community Centre,
Youth Lounge: 6th through 12th graders are
invited to join this class each Sunday. Topics will vary.

Providential Life (Adults) -
Education Building, room 205:
As a pastor, Christian worker, teacher,
military officer, small business owner, medical
worker, and large business manager, Bill Winscott’s
varied life experiences will provide class members
with a firm grasp of scriptural references leading to a
providential life—God centered—a life in Jesus Christ!
Bill and Carol are new members from Albuquerque,
New Mexico, and Bill will be using his book, LIVING A PROVIDENTIAL LIFE, as a basis for this first study.
The book is an optional resource and is available
in the church office for $10.00 and can be found
on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well. Proverbs
9:9 says to give instruction to a wise person, and
he/she will be wiser still and teach a righteous person
and he/she will increase in learning! All are welcome.

Tuesday Morning Women’s Study

The Tuesday Morning Study Group will begin
its fall study on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Classes are held in the Holy Grounds room in Fellowship Hall.

Due to the length of the videos,
we will be watching, some classes might last longer than usual.
Classes will start at 9:30 AM (on time) and will last for 1 ½ – 2 hours.  We
will be watching and discussing the first season of the show called The
Chosen, which is the first multi-season show about the life of Christ. The Chosen spotlights the real-life men and women who knew Christ, including a charismatic fisherman (Simon-Peter) drowning in debt, a troubled woman (Mary Magdalene) wrestling with real demons, a gifted tax collector (Matthew) ostracized by his family and his people and a religious leader (Nicodemus) struggling with his beliefs, plus others.

Watch their emotions and personalities develop from one episode
to the next. The Chosen includes scenes and  dialogue directly
from Scripture, but it also includes scenes and dialogue not in the
Bible. Viewers learn on the opening scroll it is  “based on the true
stories of the gospels of Jesus Christ.” Some locations and timelines
“have been combined or condensed” and “back stories and some
characters or dialogue have been added.” “However,” the scroll says,
“all biblical and historical context and any artistic imagination
are designed to support the truth and intention of the Scriptures.”
