Women

UMW Mission Statement:  “The United Methodist Women are a
community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole
persons through Jesus Christ. To develop a creative and supportive fellowship and to expand
the concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church. United
Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately
800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders, and advocating
for justice. From its beginning, United Methodist Women has focused on ministries with women, children,
and youth. With three annual fund raisers, Soup and Sandwich Night for Community Cafe, Rummage Sale, and
December Bake Sale, Bulverde UMW generously supports 15 local, national, and international missions that have this
priority. We have general meetings the second Thursday of each month, but there are many other opportunities for you to
become involved. In our unit we have over 130 members and growing! We can give you more details or answer your questions.

Tuesday Morning Women’s Study Group meets just about every Tuesday at 9:30 am. This group does not meet during the summer. 

Bunco is just one of the many fun things the BUMC women do on Girls Night Out.
  We have painting parties, game nights, we go out to dinner together, go to plays and the movies too!

Stand Tall is a one day Women’s Gathering every Spring of mind-elevation and spiritual connection guaranteed
to encourage you and refresh your spirits.  Relax, replenish, be encouraged, loved & celebrated the whole day through! 

“Circle of Friends” is a women’s one-night retreat that happens each year on the second Saturday and
 Sunday of November. This is a time of spiritual renewal and relaxation while renewing friendships and making new ones.
